Is My Site Viewable On A Mobile Device?

Yes, but...

Most sites can be found on the web via a mobile browser but not all sites look and act the same. A website designed and constructed for optimal viewing via a home computer or laptop does not always look so pretty on a mobile device. The whole website is scaled down to fit on a mobile screen and has to be zoomed-in to view it's contents. The interactive elements like forms and searches don't always respond and in many cases links are difficult or impossible to access.

In order to have your website optimized for mobile viewing a new template can be written and if the site detects that it is being viewed on a mobile device your mobile template can be switched on and your other template switched off. This is referred to as a web based app. It is an application that stores its files on a server instead of on your device. An application that stores its files on your device is referred to as a native app.

A mobile template typically has the appearance of a mobile application with menu items that are large and easy to use and pages that are not over-crowded with unnecessary information.
