Let's try something. Go to Google or Bing and type in the name of your organization. Do you show up on the first page of the search results? Now, type in a short phrase describing the type of work you do or the services that you offer. Do you show up in the first page of those results too?
Your placement on popular search engines is important. At a minimum, your site should be able to be found by using your organizatino name in the search. It can also make a huge difference for your site traffic if key terms can be used which describe your business and the search result lists you on the top page.
