Once your site is optimized, you want to work on the conversion aspect.  When a visitor arrives you should make sure that they can easily find what they are looking for and when they leave you will hopefully have moved them into the prospect or customer category. 

 

There are three main types of conversions:

  • Gathering e-mail addresses
  • Gathering data (perhaps by completing a form)
  • Completing a purchase

To drive you visitors toward conversion consider the following:

  • Make sure that each page has a distinct call to action
  • Be specific  with your offering
  • Use phrases like "try today" or sign up now" to give visitor a sense of urgency
